Company Profile of Hügli Group

The Hügli Nährmittel AG, Switzerland, was established in 1935 as a manufacturer and marketer

of quality bouillons, powder soups and sauces for the food service/catering industry. In 1986 the

Hügli Group went public (registered at the stock exchange Zürich), however the majority of shares

are still privately held by the founder family.
 

Today the Hügli Group has production plants in Switzerland, Germany and Czech Republic and

employs around 1100 people.

Major European Player – Food Service / Catering Division
 

The Hügli Group maintains an up to 20% share in the home markets of Switzerland, Germany

and Austria. The product range covers a full assortment of quality bouillons, powder soups,

sauces and desserts. Despite the saturated markets and the aggressive marketing by the food giants (CPC, Nestlé, etc.), the Hügli Group has increased its market share over the last few years.  

European’s No. 1 – Health and Natural Food Division

The Hügli Group is Europe’s market leader for the manufacture of bouillons, powder soups and

sauces within the Health and Natural Foods sector. The majority of products contain up to 100%

organic ingredients and are processed using special treatments. All products, irrespective of the

product form (cubes, powder, paste, granular, etc.) are marketed in environmentally friendly packaging.  

Major European player – Private Label Division

Leading food retailers buy their own brand products (bouillons, soups and sauces) from the Hügli Group. Hügli provides the complete service starting from the development of client specific recipes up to customised packaging.  

European’s No 1 – Industrial Food Division

The Hügli Industrial Food is the European market leader in the organic bouillon sector.

Hügli Industrial Food has been developing and manufacturing a wide range of high quality innovative

products for food manufacturers for over 30 years. These include bouillons, sauces, generic

seasonings, organic products and savoury compounds like HVP and flavours.

All Hügli Industrial Food products are manufactured to quality standards that include DIN EN ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP and EU 2092/91 – the organic standard.
